Hi all, am new to my new Mac Book Pro and FCP. I had to install all the programs in Final Cut Studio to use FCP. My question is can I now uninstall any of these programs and just keep FCP running ok ? Also if you have any other ideas to free up some hd space the Mac Book , all I really use it for is editing in the field and don’t use it for any other work.

    thank you all

    Tom

Just drag the Applications to the trash.

Final Cut should be just fine.

Now, it’s true that some of these programs will have left behind some folders in your libraries in which to save your settings. But if you haven’t used these programs yet there’s probably little to nothing IN those folders. I’d suggest that you forget about them instead of poking around forever trying to reclaim 5 MB of space by erasing empty folders. They won’t harm your system.

The one exception to that is if you let any of these programs install templates or loops. Do you remember picking those options when you loaded everything? If you have audio loops or animation templates or DVD menu samples you’ll want to earse those. Use Spotlight to search for each program’s name and see what it turns up.
