  • Sony DVMC-DA2 and “Not Threaded” warning

I’m trying to digitize footage from a non digital machine using a Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter. All the connections seem to be good. I have selected “no device control” in the FCP set up and see the picture playing in the capture window but underneath the preview I see a warning saying “not threaded”. The manual say that this means that there is no tape in the machine.

Any help would be most appreciated

    Thanks in advance

as per the manual, the “Not Threaded” message is FCP’s way of telling you that your VTR has no tape loaded … but you are not using a deck, nor are you using machine control, so just ignore it. If you can already see and hear your source then you are good to go. Press play and hit “Capture Now”.
