  HDV Subclipping

  Hi

  Does anyone know of a way to stop FCP from suclipping HDV rushes on every scene change.
  I find it really slows the workflow, I much prefer to be able to scrub trough a whole tape to find the shots I need.
  I am using FCP 5.0.4 and digitising from the Sony M10, and am using the HDV setting in FCP (the one that brings up it’s own version of the Capture window – another quirk I’d like to remedy).

  There’s a pref to turn this off. It’s in the Clip Settings tab of the HDV log and capture window.

  I’ve just tried to digitise a tape with this function turned off but it hasn’t worked. The tape rushes have been subclipped as usual.
  Has this option been successful for you? How should I have my user preferences set up (bearing in mind that I would l;ike the integrity of the timecode to be preserved).
