• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  Error: File Unknown

  Every so often when I try to save my project it tells me Error: File Unknown. The only way to save is a new file on a different drive. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, do you know what is causing it?

  Corrupted preferences can cause this and a lack of RAM can cause this when you have a very large project.

  Walter,

  The sizes of the projects vary… some are considerably large but also happens to small :30 second spots with only two files imported in.

  I will trash prefs and try that but have done this recently for another problem.
