  • What happened? My QT files are blank!

Argggg. I downloaded and installed the latest RealPlayer Version 10.1.0 (412) and all of a sudden I notice that all my QuickTime movie files (.mov, etc) are blank and white and when I double click on them they open in….RealPlayer!

I am cutting a documentary so I have dozens of QT files all over the computer and I would rather not spend the afternoon reprogramming them to “Open with” QuickTime.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

How can I UNDO this, get all my movie files back to QT, and make sure this does not happen again when I create a new QT movie file?

    Thank you all in advance!

Control-Click on any of these Quicktimes in the Finder. Select Get Info in the contextual menu

Go to the “open with” section of the Get Info Window.
Change to Quicktime Player in the pull down menu.
Beneath the pull down menu is a button to change all. Press it and all files of this type will open with Quicktime player.
