  Can anyone recommend a good SATA II drive set up?

  Hi All,

  Yet more drive questions… Sorry.
  SATA II drives, who’s using what?
  Is there a set that are acknowledged to be the best / most reliable / fastest?

  Also is it possible to edit 10 bit 1080i HD when in Raid 3 or 10 protection mode, is the read / write speed fast enough?

  Firmtek SATA Enclosures with Hitachi 7K250 drives. I’ve been using them for about a year and not one issue – perfect!

  How do you propose to get RAID 3 or 10 on SATA drives? There is no software that can do this for MAC!

  MY Quad G5 has 4 x 500 GB SATA drives running on a RocketRAID PCI Express card as RAID 0 and gets about 240 MB/sec. Not enough to use for 1080i HD! Or do you mean HDV???
