Keyboard shortcut: clip select in timeline?
A very simple (and probably very obvious) question that’s been driving me mad recently: how do I select a clip in the timeline using keyboard shortcuts. A workaround is to Mark Clip (X), then copy and paste. There must be something simpler.
The reason I ask is that we had a conform come in recently where all the shots in the timeline were off by a few frames, so they all needed to be slipped. The piece had several hundred edits in, and I was beginning to get RSI using the mouse!

Slightly better way is to Mark Clip (X), then use Select In to Out (Option-A) to select it.
Any better ideas, anyone?

Make Canvas active window (Command-2, qq etc.), then Command-A.

I have ran into this issue conforming before. I found the best way to deal with it is do a BITC test on your deck. Dig some media and render it with visual timecode. Output the clip to tape and re digitize it. Than compare the BITC with the timecode of the newly digitized clip. That should tell you how many frames it is off if any. Once you know how much it is off you can set a frame off set in your digitizing preset that way you don’t have to go through your show and change each clip by hand. If however you have to and the frame offset is consistant you can select all your clips hit option s and enter the numerical value of how many frames you would like to move the clips. Beats doing each one individually.
