Title safe not visible in Canvas
Ok, I recently upgraded to FCP 5 and then used the 5.1.1 update as well.
For some reason the canvas window will not allow the title safe overlay to turn on. I have both “show overlays” and “show title safe” checked, but still no visual of the title safe borders. I also have the dimensions as “fit to window.” Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it? It’s really, really annoying.

Have you tried trashing your preferences?

Yeah, trashing my prefs was the first thing I did. No luck.

Make sure your display is set to millions of colors. If set to thouisands, the overlays do not show up properly.

You are the man. That has been driving me crazy for weeks now. I thought my monitors were set to millions, but obviously they weren’t.
