  • Duplicate FCP Clip Edit Markers into Sequence Markers

I have a clip with edit markers. I there a way to drop it into a sequence and have those edit markers duplicate into Sequence Markers automatically?

Has anyone written a script that does this?

    Thanks,
    Jack

It seems like this program deals only with sequences.

I need to take a clip, which has markers, from the viewer window and insert it into a sequence. When it inserets- I need those edit markers from the clip to pop up in the sequence’s timeline. Basically, the markers will duplicate over the sequence.

Additionally, I would like those edit markers to automatically be Chapter Markers.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    that’s a feature request!

pretty sure XML2text will do what you need: “Get Clip level Markers out of a Sequence and lift them to Sequence level markers”
not sure it’ll be quicker than doing it yourself.

    cut clip into seq.
    export XML
    doctor it in XML2text,
    re-import to FCP

if you have a lot to do, or if this is a way you work regularly it’d be a good thing to get.
otherwise, cut your clip in to the sequence first, then add markers.

no way to add a marker and have it be a chapter marker automatically.
or even turn it into one with a shortcut.
that’s bad design on FCP’s part.
