  • Best settings for FCP and Firestore footage

I have the Panasonic HVX200, FCP 5.0.4 and the new Firestore FS100. I’ve been having issues with the footage from the Firestore. The camera shoots in 720/24p but the Firestore records it like tape i.e. 720/60. Should I set up a project in 720/60, have FCP add the frames to 24p native footage (stuff coming from the P2 cards) and let the Firestore footage in 720/60 shot in 24 be the native resolution. It seems to me that I would still get the film-look I desire but I’d have less audio and frame rate conversion issues with the Firestore stuff. The Firestore just doesn’t record native 24 yet so conversion is necessary to edit in 24. Any thoughts on the project and sequence setting is much appreciated!!
