I have used Soundsoap many times in the past as a plug in in FCP. I always manually dial out the noise because if I use the learn noise function of Soapsoap it works but…when I play play the clip there is a delay of about 1 second before soundsoap kicks in. You can hear the room tone in all of it’s glory for about a second then Soundsoap kicks in and the noise disappears. Why does this happen? Does this happen to anyone else?

I tried putting nodes on the audio for the first second of the clip that dropped the audio out. Soundsoap still waits a second after the first part of the clip with audio to kick in. Any ideas or suggestions?

I forgot to mention that unlike when I use Soundsoap in Peak if I hit the learn noise button…the default parameters do not change. So also can’t tweak them and make adjustments.

I have noticed the one second delay also. Sound Soap works great except for that delay. Sound Soap cleaned up the audio on old 3/4 tapes perfectly except at the very begining. You would think that there is a practical solution.

Hmmmm… I wonder why that is. And also why isn’t there a visual version of Sound Soap in FCP? Don’t get me wrong. SoundSoap is great tool by why short change us important parts of the interface. And why the second delay before kicking in?
