  solid colour

  can you change the colour of a solid after creating it, other than using a colour correction effect?

  Yep. Layer>solid settings. Now if you want to animate the colour change, you could use the fill effect or a color correction effect.

  The keyboard shortcut is control-shift-Y.

  In the menus, the change settings changes depending on what is selected in the timeline. If you have a camera selected and go through the menus, then it will be change camera settings which will be available etc….
