The idea is to batch edit into a sequence 100 clips, by selecting them all and dragging them into the timeline. Then, based on the souce clip timecode, each clip would locate to its exact same timecode location on the sequence side.

Clip 1 source TC 01:12:12:00 would auto locate to that same TC on the sequence side.
Clip 2 source TC 01:12:47:12 would auto locate to that same TC on the sequence side and so on.

    Daniel,

This kind of task seems perfectly suited for a new third party program that works with FCP called “Traffic” by XM/edit. It uses a “node based” approach to automating multiple steps or processes. It’s worth giving it a look. https://www.xmedit.com/

You don’t even need Traffic. If you sort by timecode, & then drag them into your timeline, they’ll already be in sequence. Whether or not they ‘align’, say a clip with starting TC of 1:23:32;18 lining up to the timeline at 1:23:32;18 is another matter. That may take some additional work.

apple.com has a feedback page for FCP.
A tool like “distribute selected in time” (similar to a time distribution function in After Effects) would be much nicer to have than those freakin’ Autoselect thingies.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
