Green Slug (Final Cup Pro v.5)
Posted by Wang Lee on March 20, 2006 at 7:41 pmFor some reason, the slug in my video generator turns green. I have reset preferences, made it other colors but it defaults back to green, did I hit somehing wron, have a bug? or is this a deeper issue.

March 20, 2006 at 8:00 pmI didn’t know you could make the SLUG a different color.
Anyway, if you continue to have problems, just use the “Matte” color generator set to the color black.

March 20, 2006 at 8:16 pmSomething in FCP5 is definately buggy. i have never seen a slug go green but i have had other things go green like a nested sequence or a random frame when jumping along the timeline. Do u have a blackmagic card? The only machine which has had any green activity at our ofice is the machine with the blackmagic card. Just wondering if there is a connection.

March 20, 2006 at 10:53 pmI sometimes get the same thing, but on both macs with or without decklink cards. Can’t remember the solution now.. was it reinstalling quicktime ?

March 21, 2006 at 6:29 amThe green slug comes from corruption in your preferences, and they need to be discarded. They are in Users/”your name”/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data. In my experience “green slug disease” happens regardless of what other cards/hardware you have installed. If you haven’t backed up your preferences, you will need to reset them after discarding and restarting FCP. For future preference resets, try FCP Rescue.

March 21, 2006 at 8:35 pmI have previously discarded the preferences and that reset works until I create a new project. Othse you have to clear the preferences every time.
Thanks
