    Hi,

The other day I was having system wide problems and had to reinstall OSX on my G5. Since having done that, when I open my FCP HD I get the following error:

All of my 720 X 480 sequences open up just fine, yet won’t let me render anything, and every single one of my HD sequences give me this error.

Any thoughts! Do I have to reinstall Final Cut? And if so, do I just install over the old one?

    Please help!!

    Thanks in advance!

Little more info there please. Is this DV? Do you have a Kona or like card? Computer configuration with software and hardware versions. Do you have other edit suites to test out this media? Can you open the QT files in quicktime?

    Hope this helps-

    Holly,

I had that problem also and there is a simple fix.

In the browser right click on the affected sequence and select sequence settings.

Then go to the compression setting and change it from the current codec setting to another and them back again to the right codec.

    Hit ok

The problem you are having is FCP is confused with the codec settings.

Did you by any chance upgrade the version of FCP during your editing?
