    quick question:

when I convert a dvd file with mpeg streamclip for use in FCP what compression should I chosse, what should I choose for sound?

Right now i am using mpeg4 and need to render each file I convert once it is in FCP. I know there is a better way.

    Thanks.

You should export as what ever format you are using in your FCP sequence. If you are using the DV codec in FCP then you should export from mpeg streamclip as DV.

You should be aware that DVDs use very highly compressed video. If you take that, edit it and then re-compress back to DVD there will be a noticeable loss in quality.

    thanks for your advice…

I am using dv ntsc 48khz – I export movie from dvd as dv ntsc and still when I open it in FCP it appears unrendered…

    what about the sound settings?
