Greetings. We just got our new HVR. Using the camera for capture, i set my FCP easy set up to HDV 1080-60. 2 things happened when i captured…1. i used “capture now” and captured about 18 minutes of footage. when the capture ended it automatically divided up my footage into 34 different clips. the only thing i can figure out is it read when i started and stopped recording?
    2. when i put a clip into the timeline it shows that the clip needs to be rendered? i thought it was real time just like DV?

    1) Yes…it breaks it up where the camera was started and stopped.

    2) After you change the easy setup, make a new sequence. Don’t use the one already in the project. Make a new sequence and start cutting into that one. Should work fine.

    thanks shane,
one question…when i opened a new project i set the easy setup to hdv 1080-60 then captured. are you saying i have to reset the easy set up after i capture? or do i need to change the sequence settings in the audio/video settings to something else?
    thanks

No. After you choose your easy setup, THEN you capture your footage. Then need to create a new sequence. THAT new sequence will have the settings that match your easy setup and captured clips. DO not capture before you have chosen an easy setup.
