  • how to merge cuts?

Posted by Juliett on February 24, 2006 at 5:30 pm

    Hello Again 🙂

One of our editors is cutting a 2 hr long programme. (offline)

He is working on many different parts at once which at some point will merge.

He dragged the sequence into the timeline to merge the cuts and this created nested sequences which we don’t want for online purposes

I suggested that he creates a main sequence then copy and paste the other sequence’s contents into the new one.

Is this the way to do it or have I just given him the wrong advice.

    Thanks for any replies

    Julie

You can also overwrite/insert “with sequence content” (defaulted to one of the modifier keys). This will avoid nested sequences. You can remap the keyboard so this is the normal condition, which won’t affect standard master clip edits. Doing this won’t retain links to rendered files from the original timeline (re-rendering required), though, whereas copy/paste will.

    Sincerely,
    Oliver
