Problems making change lists in FCP HD
Hey everybody,
I’m taking over, temporarily, as assistant editor on a movie, shot on minidv, while the original assistant is otherwise engaged. I need to make a change list using final cut pro. There are two problems:
1. I don’t know if cinematools handles non-film change lists, and I don’t see any other way to make change lists in FCP.
2. The original assistant never made a cinematools database. So what I need to know is: What’s the best way for me to accomplish making this change list? Is there some way to do it that doesn’t require a cinematools database? If not, what will I need in order to make that database? Everything I’ve found so far has said to get keycode and ink number info from telecine logs, but that doesn’t apply here because the movie was shot on minidv. So I’m at a loss as to what info I’ll need to make this work. If the best bet for me is to just make the cinema tools database from scratch myself, after the fact, then what information will I need to have available to me to do that? Will I need the minidv tapes physically available to me? Do I need to know anything about the cameras used to shoot the scenes?
Thanks in advance, and please feel free to let me know if I’m not being clear enough about something.
Adam
