    Hi there,

I’m trying to use the technique that Andrew Kramer describes in his ‘Light Streaks’ tutorial, but have come up against an issue when trying to integrate the streaks with other layers in 3D space. It appears that despite the light emitter being a 3D object it is the placement of the ‘Particles Layer’ (solid with particular applied to it) that dictates whether the streaks appear in front of or behind other layers, regardless of their Z position.

Can anyone think of a way round this? I’ve experienced similar goings on with other plugins in the past, but am hoping that there’s a way of using a layer as an emitter instead of a light and animating that in 3D space, but tests so far have failed! Maybe is there’s another plugin/technique that I could use, or am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

In other words, I believe you need to set an obscuration layer in Particular.

However, just like Highlander, there can be only one. 🙂
