    24p headache.

I shot with DVX100A in 24p Advanced. Digitized and edited in 24p timeline and codec. When I playback the timeline, the computer window plays fine but it won’t playback properly through my deck/monitor (I use a DSR20 via Firewire, connect monitor with S-video). The monitor only displays freeze frames. Frame chages to current timeline frame when I stop playback.

I hear the timeline audio throgh the deck but I don’t get motion video. Only get still frames when I stop the timeline at different spots. Window on computer plays fine. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jay

Make sure the settings to add back the pulldown are correct… and also make sure the DSR is set to e/e… otherwise you’ll get the behavior you see.

Can you review the settings for me? The following is what I have done:
    – Recorded 24pAdv. in DVX
    – 23.9 capture preset
    – 24 timeline
    – Deck is in E/E.

What else should I be doing? I’ve only done 1 24p edit before but I didn’t have these problems.

Your Sequence time base should be set to 23.98, not 24.
