  change color on capture?

  i had thought there was a way to do some color correction as you capture, well, really, i mean set up the correction settings BEFORE capturing, but during the logging process, but nothing seems available, at least not with the DV capture settings. what up?

  DV over firewire? Nothing can be changed. It’s just making a digital dub of the data on the tape. It’s pretty much the same as if you were copying a file off of a CD. There’s no way to alter the data as it’s being copied.

  You’d need some kind of capture card that is importing and digitizing the video as you go. Some of them can do stuff like that but you’ll have to wait for someone with more knowledge than me to advise you on that.

  no, this is through my capture card from a Beta tape. capturing in DV codec for an offline edit to save space.

  It’s usually possible to alter color on capture in composite, not component using a capture card.
  You’ll also need to work in another capture preset besides NTSC DV, as you can’t capture composite with that codec.
  A non-firewire based codec, like Apple 8 Bit will allow you to do this.
