  Progressive Capture and Export

  hi everyone

  i recorded my footage on the panasonic DVX100A (PAL 25fps) squeeze mode

  i captured my footage with the capture setting:

  DV PAL 48 kHz Anamorphic

  is this correct?

  for exporting to maintain the full quality

  my sequence settings are:

  PAL – CCIR (720X576) anomorphic
  field dominance NONE
  QT video settings
  DV PAL 100% quality

  is this correct?

  am i right to assume that since it’s progressive, there is no option on capture so i capture like the good ole’ fashion way DV PAL

  and for the sequence i should put the field dominance to none as there are no fields?

  There is no progressive DV format. Progressive DV cameras embed their progressive video inside the interlaced DV format. That’s why you don’t need special settings for import or export.

  The “fields = none” setting in FCP only applies to motion effects that are created inside FCP. It doesn’t effect footage at all.
