I am editing a documentary for which I will be having some of the Arabic footage translated. My plan was to have the interpreter sit in the edit room with me and translate as we go. I was going to create chapter markers on my timeline with the tranlation so that I would know where the sentences began and ended in the timeline. Make sense?

The plan was to export the chapter markers with the timecode and the info I type in so that I would have a sort of transcript of the footage translated. Now that I have found out that you can’t export the data from chapter markers I need to figure out a new way to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions of an alternative method? The key is knowing the exact timecode of where the words begin and end so that when we create subtitles it will match.

    Thanks!
    Vanessa

Thanks anyway, Matthew. That seems to be the consensus. Maybe one day FCP will update this option.
