  All clips on the timeline need to be rendered after being dropped

  I am working on a project using an external hard drive, and every time I do anything on the timeline it needs to be rendered. How do I fix this? I am using FCP 4 on a G5 and 2 different powerbooks with my firewire hard drive. Please help me

  YOur capture settings must match your timeline settings. So the settings for your sequence must match the codec and framerate of the clips you are trying to use. Drop a DV clip into a DVCPRO 50 timeline and you’ll have to render.
