Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Waveform issue

This seems to have started since FCP 5.0.4. We have multiple editors working on the same project. The way we accomplish this is that each editor has their own FCP project file which is storred on the server. If another editor comes in to take over working on a particular sequence, they will open the first editor’s project and copy the sequence into their own personal project.

Media files are kept on a SAN.

The problem is, if editor number one now takes back the other editor’s sequence, he is unable to see waveforms for any of the non timecoded sound files associated with that sequence. When you bring a sound file into the viewer, the viewer is black, and no waveforms are displayed.

Other sound files not associated with the “shared” sequence are fine. Also, timecoded footage dispalys properly as well.

    Anyone else seen this?

    Alan,

We are haveing a very similiar problem with 5.0.4. Only it is happening on some of our clips that have been digitized with time code. The waveform is not showing up in the timeline or the preview window. If anyone has thoughts on this please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Jerry
