AJA IO to Mackie VLZ 1202, to self powered M-Audio BX-8s. I also have the decks and the computer output run to the mixer so I can monitor everything from the same speakers.

I’ve been running my speakers of the headphone socket – or out of the camera for years, (G4 & G5) and I’ve never had a problem. It could be that you have a bad connection, or a faulty wire somewhere. You may want to sort that out rather than purchasing expensive equipment.

Blackmagic decklink extreme out to mixer, mixer out to amp. I also have the deck and computer going to the mixer, but I don’t use the computer’s out for anything other than system sounds and iTunes, never for production. I always use the decklink’s out for production, since I monitor on an external TV connected to the decklink.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Mostly Decklink coax spdif out to flying cow to yamaha (MSP5) powered monitors. We got a couple of Edirol MA20D powered monitors too which have both optical and coax in so you can get the decklink and G5 spdif without unhooking anything.
