    Hi,

Sorry for the dramatic headline, but I’m under the gun and really need some help. I’m using the voice over to to do some sync work. The tool itself records fine but when it gets to the timeline its out of sync and actually about 15 frames early. In other words I can hear that the material is being laid down in sync, but when it plays back it is 15 frames early. I even recorded a test using the voice over tool, then synced to what I recorded with it and still the same thing happened. When it went down they were in sync and when I played them back together there was a very noticable delay of 15 frames. I am very familiar with FCP audio and have used the VO tool succsessfully in the past. I haven’t changed anything in my set up other than downloading some of Mac’s recent performance upgrades. I spent hours going through my preferences and making sure that frame and sample rates were the same etc. so I’m now very confused. If anyone has suggestions I would really appreaciate it as I can finish this job without it. Thanks…Sean

I’m not in front of my computer so I can’t tell you this exactly. On the Voice Over tool dialog box there’s an offset setting where you can affect the sync. I’m not sure if it will deal with sound that is early and I don’t think the offset goes as high as 15 frames. But maybe it will help. What interface are you using to input your audio to the VO tool? A crude way of dealing with the issue is to select the tracks after laying them down and offset them manually 15 frames.

    Sean,
Did you try dumping your preference files and rebooting?
Make sure FCP is not running when you do this and empty the trash when done.
Since you said you have used the VO tool before and it has worked well I suspect it is
    nothing you have changed.

Hi Randy and thanks very much for responding…

I’m not sure what dumping your preference files
means, but will look into it. Will this cause any
problems with other projects that I’m currently working on or
will I need to reset all my preferences for them?
    Thanks…Sean
