Recapture question.
Hi there good people of the cow!
This is probably just me having had too much coffee or something, But:
I need to recapture some footage that was captured with one mono channel of audio (which is no good since the interviewer is on the other mic, I taught my boss a quick lesson afterwards..). What do I do to recapture (I have made it offline) with both audio channels, preferably in mono. There is a tab in the log and capture window which says “use digitizers default settings” which is grayed out and I just dont get it.
Any help would be much appreciated.G5

Here are the steps (including the first ones, which you have already done.)
In the bin, Select (highlight) all of your (incorrect) clips.
Then, Control-Click (and HOLD the mouse button down) on one of them and choose: “Make Offline…”
Next pop-up window, choose “Delete from Disk” > OK > OK.Locate the “Tracks” column in the Browser.
Now, make sure that all of your (formerly incorrect) clips are still Selected (highlighted) and…Then, (in the Tracks column) Control-Click (and HOLD the mouse button down)
on one of the clips and choose: “1V 2A” (1 Video Track, 2 Audio Tracks).All of the clips should now show this new setting.
Now, make sure that all of your (formerly incorrect) clips are still Selected (highlighted) and…

Thanks for the reply, but this is exactly what is weird. When I go to item properties I cant change anything but anamorphic and alpha level. And when I right click in the tracks column of the browse (and the clip is offline and highlighted)I get the message “no shortcuts”. Hmmm.. Ive been through all the menus and settings and stuff and I cant find any relevant settings. My settings are correct in the clip settings part of log and capture but fcp seems to only follow the original digitized settings. I also tried exporting the clip to another project but the result was the same..

You need to Make the clips “Offline” AND “remove” them from the disk.
If it still doesn’t work after that:
The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

Thanks for all of your tips Matte. I just discovered that all I had to do was to switch of the “use logged clip settings” tab in the batch capture window.
Doh.
