    Hello,
My DV footage when I play from the Viewer and see it on the O/p monitor it doesn’t maintain the aspect ratio.(On TV monitor the image stretches vertically and and horizontally it sqeezes) But when the same is played from the sequences it play properly.

I ve seen when I take 8bit footage with 25% compression it also does the same.

I checked with my viewer, Square pixel is checked. Anything is missing

    Thankx

    Rody

Is this footage 16×9 perhaps? If so, you need a monitor that can adjust for that…

A standard TV won’t have the option to squeeze the footage on the fly. A widescreen TV will though. This is why editors use pro video monitors and not TV sets. A proper pro monitor will squeeze your footage as it plays. Sounds like you need to break out some cash and get yourself some proper gear.
