  • problem rotating still tif using Basic 3D in FCP HD

I am trying to rotate a still TIFF (created in Photoshop with flattened layers) using Basic 3D in FCP HD. The problem I am encountering is that FCP wants to add a thin grey line around the outside of the still when it turns on the y-axis. The background of the still is white and I have layered it on top of a white color matte. I’ve tried resizing the still image, I’ve tried cropping it down in the motion tab, I’ve tried applying anti-aliasing, flicker and matte choker filters, but the line still remains. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem?

    Thanks!

Try a PICT or PSD file.

I tried it again with a PSD file and the same thing happened. It’s like FCP is adding a border or a drop shadow or something to the still when it rotates, but I can’t find anyway to get rid of it short of building a lot of travelling mattes around the lines.

Have you tried the CGM version of Basic 3D? It’s pretty nice and came free with FCP 3, if I recall.
