Why do I get no video on my DVD’s when using TOAST 7 to author FCP made movies
I just bought Toast 7 Titanium. I’ve never used any Roxio products before. I have tried to burn several copies of a FCP project to DVD. The first time, I exported the FCP movie with chapters and it was not self contained like I would have for iDVD. The dvd came out and all I had was the audio on the dvd. Then I exported the movie self contained. Same thing, no video, only audio when the DVD was finished. Then I tried a disc image with the same self contained movie. It said the file was only about 500mb.It was a 50 minute video encoded at a VBR 7, max BR 8 and reencoding, which I’m assuming means 2 pass encoding so I know the file of an image should have been around 3.2 gigs.
In case you’re wondering why I’m trying Toast and need quick answers, it’s because I hate the way iDVD’s are encoded. I usually use my PC because I love Main Concept’s encoder and Adobe Encore, and don’t think DVD Studio Pro is worth the money if Compressor can encode the same quality MPEG2 in FCP as Studio Pro. Needless to say, I haven’t upgraded from 4.5 to FCP 5.
Sorry I’m long winded.
