  canvas/timeline out of sync

  I captured clips in fcp 4 from my mini dv camera. the quicktimes are in sync. when imported them into a project in fcp, they are in sync in the viewer. but when put into the timeline, they are a few frames out of sync in the canvas. I have been using fcp 4 for several years and have never had this problem. any suggestions?

  Sounds like you’re looking at the Canvas but listening to audio from an external source, like a Firewire device.

  You need to listen and watch the same source. You can also use the Playback Offset to adjust the audio offset to make the external monitor and Canvas lock up in sync.
