I was wondering if anyone had any ideas why I cannot see the clip’s source timecode in the canvas. The timecode spot in the top right hand corner shows the main timeline timecode. When I right click on the box and choose source timecode, nothing changes, even when I select the other option clip time. I get the source clip timecode in an overlay, but I wanted to see it in the canvas timecode spot.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help!

Use the overlay… it’s the only way this works as far as I know… what the source TC display refers to is not the original code of the source clip (it has to do with fps material that isn’t the same as the sequence setting’s fps… read about it in the manual. type “source Time” in the search box in FCP help…

Thanks, that is what I have been doing, it would be nice to type in the source clip timecode in the canvas though…

You could match frame a clip… then the source TC would be in the Viewer.

    Thanks, I’ll try that.
