  what is that plugin that reduces the size of renders with straight alphas? came with the meyer’s book…

  i got it on a dvd when i bought chris/trish meyer’s book for after effects.

  when i render a straight alpha channel with my image sequence, the file is huge, as it’s rendering the entire frame, even though the alpha isolates a small element.
  the plugin is supposed to only render the additional information around edges/semi transparent areas, so that the majority of the frame could be compressed better.

  i need to render a large amount of files with straight alpha for the client, all of which play simultaneously for a large event projection. if i can get the file size down using this plugin it would be great.

  i can’t remember what it’s called though… and my dvd is at home. if it’s free i’ll grab it off the web today, otherwise i can’t render till tomorrow when i can collect my dvd.

  but argh! i forgot to collect my dvd from home last night too.
  i googled for it and nothing came up… surely this plugin exists somewhere other than the DVD of the meyer’s book? such a useful tool could hardly be unknown.

  is anyone willing to email it to me? yes yes i know piracy issues and such, i’m expecting you’ll all say “just wait till you get home and this time REMEMBER to get the dvd”. it would just be nice to have it now instead of tomorrow.
