  • Cannot copy “file name” : The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable

Here is my problem. I export my video from FCP as an AVI. I then need to transfer it to a PC so I can encode it as a variable bit rate WMV file. If the AVI is over a gig I will burn it to a DVD. Then I put the DVD in the PC. Open the disc and When I attempt to drag or copy the file to the PC I get this error, “Cannot copy “file name” : The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable.”

This process worked fine, until about two months ago. Also, It gives me the error on any PC I attempt it on, so I don’t think it is a PC problem.

If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem may be or how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
