Achieving rich, contrasty black & white video
I’m going to be shooting an interview on color mini-dv tape (on a Sony PD-170) which I’d like to finish in B&W. I’d like it to be more on the contrasty side (Plus-X as opposed to Tri-X for you still film shooters). Think of Woody Allen’s “Manhattan”.
Does anyone have a workable FCP formula for converting color footage to B&W? Or has anyone achieved better results in-camera? Thanks much as always. – Rob
