I have FCP5 connected via firewire to my camcorder which outputs to my NTSC monitor. I’ve had this same setup for years but for some inexplicable reason, now the video signal is not making it from FCP to my camcorder (since I installed the latest FCP, I think). It boots up fine and recognizes the camcorder for capture but will not output video. There are no other applications running. It’s gotta be something stupid, but I just can’t figure it out (what’s that say for me? – don’t answer…). Running latest OS. Thanks.

don’t want to insult your wizdom if you already tried this, but if you go in the audio/video settings (cmnd-alt-Q),
then in the section “external video”, you select “Apple Firewire NTSC ”

If you already done this and it dosen’t work much ( in that case, i’m sorry i assumed that you haven’t try this ) , then i suggest you to run the apple software upgrade wizzard, and get the latest upgrades for your OS/FCP5/QT …

Hope it will solve your problem
