Everyone has been talking about processing power for HDV editing. I am considering buying FCP 5 suite. Is an Imac G5 2.0 with a Ram upgrade to 2 gb enough power? Has anyone used or seen this configuration?

    Thanks,

    Dan

i am using an imac 2.0 with 1.5g ram to cut HD (dvcpro codec) footage. i had the footage captured at a post house and transferred to a usb drive. then i dropped the footage onto the imac hard drive and it has worked like a charm.

hdv should be similar if not faster.

no worries mate. soon we’ll all be editing on thumbnails and using heads of pins for storage.
