Comprimation of different tracks for more speed – how do I do that?
My after effects project has grown to 29 different audio and video tracks (layers). It does not move much anymore. I’m desperate just to find out one move: How do I merge different tracks to one, to save space and regain speed? thanks for your help.

You don’t. There is no such thing as a video/ audio mixdown you may know from editing programs. You either pre-compose (select all layers and hit Ctrl+Shift+C) or render out your comp. When you render, you can choose to replace your original composition with the rendered footage, which is probably what you are looking for. ;O).

Well, without digging into the finer intricacies of the German language – there are two terms for compression. One is, as you would expect, “Kompression” and the other is called “Komprimierung”.
