Burning a DVD with FCP 5
Well, it’s time to burn a project to DVD and it’s not going according to Hoyle. I’ve tried FCP File>Export>Using Quicktime Conversion. Once I’m there MPEG2 is to be selected from the ‘Format’ dropdown. MPEG2 cannot be found “anywhere”???
So I went at it another way. From FCP I exported as a QuickTime Movie and imported into DVD Studio Pro. Following the instructions I have a project(in this case a 30 second project) has to be Built & Formatted. It took several minutes for the Build…is this normal? and after the Formatting DVD Studio “froze”…But, it wasn’t really a “freeze”. When I ejected the CD a prompt said it was successful? The project was burned to the DVD but for the life of me I can’t understand what happened.
There has to be an easier route to burning a DVD. Is there? It seems that at every turn FCP has you traveling through several different options in order to complete a project. It has been a interesting journey so far. Thanks. Thom Sullivan/Comcast
