NVIDIA or ATI
Posted by Drizzt_g on August 10, 2005 at 7:34 pmIf you leave out the fact that the NVIDIA card takes two slots, which video card is the best for FCP5 on a dual 2.7 G5.
Thanks

August 10, 2005 at 7:51 pmI have both and although I haven’t done any precise measurements, I reckon the Nvidia is faster.
It will also do 4K textures and can render in higher quality, although I haven’t tried this with either cards yet.The upside of the ATI (apart from the slot thing) is it is the only card Final Touch will recognise.

August 11, 2005 at 5:48 pmWhich ATI are you talking about? The ATI X800 is more powerful than the Nvidia 6800, which in turn is more powerful than the ATI 9800.

August 12, 2005 at 3:16 amI was talking about the X800.
Is there a difference between the X800 and the X850 or is the X850 just an upgradedX800.
