  If you leave out the fact that the NVIDIA card takes two slots, which video card is the best for FCP5 on a dual 2.7 G5.

  I have both and although I haven’t done any precise measurements, I reckon the Nvidia is faster.
  It will also do 4K textures and can render in higher quality, although I haven’t tried this with either cards yet.

  The upside of the ATI (apart from the slot thing) is it is the only card Final Touch will recognise.

  Which ATI are you talking about? The ATI X800 is more powerful than the Nvidia 6800, which in turn is more powerful than the ATI 9800.

  I was talking about the X800.

  Is there a difference between the X800 and the X850 or is the X850 just an upgradedX800.
