    Hey guys,

I’ve tried everything you suggested and it still doesn’t seem to work. I checked and there’s 30 frames per second on my canvas – so I might have been working on NTSC (?) thinking that I was on PAL (?).

If I try playing out on PAL it freezes the first and last frame when I play and stop the timeline on the canvas. Whereas if I playout on NTSC it plays the images all pixelly and slower audio.

What have I done?? More importantly, how do I sort this out? I should be playing out on PAL.

    Many thanks

    ha

First try to figure out whether your footage is PAL or NTSC, if it is mostly NTSC, throw the PAL stuff away. Bring the NTSC stuff in
a a ntsc timeline.NEVER MIX PAL and NTSC, it won’t work. edit your thing, if you’re lucky you can complete your project in NTSC.
Make a self containing file and convert that one to PAL.
For this you can use compressor 2 (though the default settings work poorly)

Or you purchase Graeme Nattress standard conversion filter.

Works fine for me from PAL-NTSC.

I know now what I did.

Digitized PAL cause cam is PAL. FCP converted it to NTSC cause so was the setting and now cam being PAL and footage NTSC it wouldn’t play out properly.

Can I convert my NTSC to PAL (so that I can play out to my cam?) or,

Do I need and NTSC deck to play out to?

    Many thanks!
