  • Footage capture problem via firewire with Sony VX2000

This is my first project using FCP 5.0.

FCP 5.0 doesn’t seem to recognize when my camera (Sony VX2000) is connected. I’m using Tiger 10.4.

I know it is physically connected properly, because I can capture the footage in iMovieHD with the same setup and camera.

When I select File>log and capture with my camera connected, FCP just shuts down…boom, like that. I have to restart it. When I disconnect the firewire, and select File>log and capture, I get color bars in the monitor window and some kind of “camera not connected” message.

Has anybody else had this problem? I couldn’t stand the thought of using iMovieHD, even for home movies!

    Thanks in advance.
