HMI flickering
Hi
I just finished shooting my graduation student film, and in one of the scenes there is HMI flickering. How can I get it out? Is it possible?
Were a few people that are all intermediate in after effects, but the only way we can think of to do it is rotoscoping every single frame. It that really the only way?

You can try the AE color stabilizer but I predict it won’t magically solve your problem. I would more come to terms with the look of the HMI flicker. Is it really that bad? Sometimes it can look cool in that Fight Club kind of way, but obviously depends on it’s use and subject matter. What frame rate did you shoot at that caused the flicker or was it a bad ballast or something?

I think it must have been a bad ballast yeah. It was on a gennie, but the gennie was running at 50htz and we messured every 15mins…
The flickering doesn’t cut so its really quite bad. I might try the colour stabilizer. Is that a plug in?
