    Hi all,

I’ve been having a very hard time with my PSD files in FCP since I upgraded to studio. I basically have small titles (movie ratings, to be more exactly) that I have to add to my projects as overlays. The problem is that when I reposition them on the canvas, they’re all a little jagged (mostly horizontally) abd blurry on both my NTSC and on my computer monitor.

I had a similar problem on FCP 4.5 but all that I needed to do to fix it was to move the graphic/overlay and make sure it was falling on the even lines under my motion tab.

This time, though, that doesn’t do it. I’m pretty sure it has to do with the way FCP studio is handling those files because when I open an older 4.5 FCP file that looked fine and the computer gets rid of the original render files, the same thing happens.

I tried recreating the graphics on photoshop and exported them in different formats (PSD, TIFF and PIC). No success…

I wonder if anyone has a suggestion… Those are my specs: Dual 2.5 G5, 4Gig RAM, BlackMagic card, PSD CS 8.0, 10.4.1…

    Thanks,

    Marcos H.

    Hey Marcos,

I ran into the same issue. Go to-Sequence Settings-Video Processing, and change “Motion Filtering Quality” to Fastest (linear).

    That should make a difference.

Hey guys… I think this is a HUGE bug in the software since Apple is tellig you to set it to Best Quality.

It does seem to be a problem with FCP5. I had a similar situation. I tried everything i could think of and what others suggested. All the obvious. Blurr, even lines, etc. Could not get rid of the flicker when moving stills vertically or horizontally. I’ve heard talk of this bug elsewhere also.
