  • Plug ins not showing up.

Hi, my plug ins are not showing up.

They are: Natress set 1, Digital Heaven Grid and Guides, and some other ones.

    So far I’ve tried:
    1-Putting them in Library/Application Support/FCP System Support/Plug Ins
2-Taking them out of the folder they where in
3-No I don’t have any Automatic Duck Plug Ins
    4-Repaired permissions
    5-Rebooted

One shows up, Digital Heaven’s “guides”

    I’m running G5/FCP 5/10.4.1/QT 7.1

Check file permissions in the finder, using “get info”. Make sure they’re all “read and write”.

I had a similar problem. My resolution was to go to applications–>Final Cut Pro–> Right click, Show Package Contents–>Contents–>Plugins. I had to delete any extra plugins within the plugins folder and reinstall. Once I did that, everything magically worked again. Hope this helps!

Thanks Graeme and Tim, checked both your suggestions and all is well. The only plug in that is working is labeled as a “Final Cut Pro Pluging File” the ones not working are “unix executable files” or .txt files.

Looks like they need re-installing from the original downloads or media then.

Oh, makes sense. What I did was back up my plug ins to a flash drive when I bought a new G5 and then I just copied them over to the FCP folder. I’ll try this tonight when I get home.

I had the same problem. Fixed it by moving all the plugins to a whole new directory. I’m not at work now but if anyone still needs to just reply to this thread. Apple should of a made a note to correct this problem from FCP 4 to 5.
