My new FCP makes my eyes hurt
We just set up two new FCP suites with pairs of the gargantuan new cinemadisplay LCD monitors, and they look SWEET.
However…
I am already feeling eyestrain trying to see and work with the FCP GUI, particularly the icons for the actual toolbars. I have ALL this (holds hands wide apart) screen real estate going to waste, and here I have these teeny weenie toolbars, some of which are barely the size of my cursor ARROW. I guess I’m spoiled by working with Autodescreet’s Edit* where the tool icons are each the size of my thumbnail on similarly sized dual CRT screens. Made mousing around easy. With FCP, it’s like threading needles to select anything by comparison. Is this juts a ploy to make everybody keyboard more?;-) I understand I can magnify the timelines, I’m talking about the actual on-screen BUTTONS for the various functions.
My questions then are:
Is there some unpublished trick to make the toolbars and tool icons themselves larger? Will using the handicapped/visually impaired screen-mag setups in Apple’s monitor controls mess up anything I’m doing with FCP, Motion, and Combustion?
What about changing screen resolution for the LCD’s? Does that directly affect size?
And, do you know a good eye doctor in central Illinois? If I can’t fix this, I’m going to need one;-)
