sync problems
my audio and video clips are out of sync by 4 frames. i have to manually sync them. if i select ‘move into sync’ it brings them together but still 4 frames out. any ideas?

How are you monitoring the audio and video in determining this? i.e. is there a capture card involved? Using computer speakers or external speakers with an external video monitor or?

i’m using an external pal monitor and external speakers as well the canvas and viewer. there are several other factors: i did the orginal edit on a g4 with 4.5. i’m re-editing on a g5 with 4.5 and tiger. also the original timeline started at 01 with drop frames and the re-edit start at 10 without drop frames.

There is an offset for playback in the A/V settings’ Playback Control Tab. Might try adjusting that until the material comes into sync.

Make certain that your speakers and monitor are connected to the DV Deck and NOT the Mac.

thanks for your help on this. it reminas unsolved.
the frame offset is set to 4. i assume this is the default setting as i haven’t changed it. but i don’t understand why there is a standard frame offset on playback?
do you think my changing the timeline counter will have made any difference?
