FCP5 Decklink HD & Monitoring
Posted by Chip Whiting on May 31, 2005 at 6:15 pmI have the decklink HD card installed, now my question is, my monitor doesn’t have an SDI in, only component, hdmi & s video. How do I hook it up to my monitor?
Thanks

May 31, 2005 at 6:38 pmThere are several SDI – Component conveters out there. BlackMagic and AJA both have very good ones.

May 31, 2005 at 10:28 pmSo not only did I have to buy this Decklink HD, but now I have to buy another piece of hardware to see video on my HD monitor? Is there another way to see HDV on my main monitor, now that it doesn’t go through firewire?

You could have purchased the Kona 2 and used either Component or Composite video outputs which are included. That’s what I use.

May 31, 2005 at 11:12 pmIf you needed component outputs from the card, you should have purchased the DeckLink HD Pro

May 31, 2005 at 11:13 pmThe Decklink HD Pro has both SDI and component output which I use to input my Sharp 45″ Aquous HD monitor. Works a treat for both HD and SD. I would use this instead of the Decklink HD and a component converter.
